Why do Americans have such a bad reputation?

This is the average American for you. When on their home ground they are wonderful people but when they travel they get loud and obnoxious. Why this is I don't know. But I can't talk, I am a Brit and (certain) Brits abroad are just as bad if not worse. I think the USA's foreign policies have a lot to do with why they are hated, not any individual Yank.
