What are some good books on thi boxing?

i wish to learn but i only have a karatay(sp) place and a doshinkan place nearby. the karatay place thas a teacher who from what my fathers old kem po teachers says is not very good. and i did take doshinkan and its nive a relaxing but i want some thing a bit more violent and sports oreanted.
