Who sells a microphone for a current production iPod?

I see fellow students recording lectures on iPods just fine. But the Apple store presently has no iPod microphones. All the third-party offerings I see are for obsolete models of the iPod or require hacks to work. For example the XtremeMac MicroMemo is for 2nd generation Nanos, but Apple only sells the incompatible 3rd generation Nano. So what's the scoop on new equipment? Or am I forced to but only used gear because it's better? In case it's relevant - I have not the slightest interest in music of any kind.
