What should i do about this relationship?

my gf and i have been dating for six months and we are in a serious relationship. we have both professed our love for each other and get along great. the only problem is that i just recently joined the navy and the closest port i would be stationed at is an hour away. the second closest is two hours away. at the one that's only an hour away, my biggest concern is that since it's in D.C. i'll be deployed more often than not. i love this girl like there is no tomorrow and just don't want us to drift too far apart, despite the fact that distance is somewhat of an issue.
