Mayweathers Greatness - Self-Delusion or Self-Evident Truth?

Okay, so here's a question....how is it that Mayweather is given such high accolades and considers himself the greatest P4P fighter all time when you compare his record to other ring legends? Sure, he's undefeated with 39-0 with 25 KOs, and he's got a bunch of belts from different weight cles. His list of notable victims if impressive, with Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, Zab Judah, Diego Corrales, Jesus Chavez, and Jose Luis Castillo at the top, as well as several others...but explain to me how that compares to Sugar Ray Robinson's record of 173-19-6 with 108 KOs in three weight cles against the likes of Fritzie Zivic, Jake LaMotta, Henry Armstrong, Tommy Bell, Artie Levine, Kid Gavilan, Rocky Graziano, and Joey Maxim....and that was just the first time. When he came back from retirement, he then took wins over Gene Fullmer, Bobo Olson, Caren Basilio, and Denny Moyer. All of them were Hall of Famers and champions. Sure, his record is not perfect; by todays standards, 19 losses would be the kiss of death. But with two hundred fights under his belt, and dozens of matches against so many outstanding fighters, how can Mayweather, or anyone else, make the comparison with a straight face? Not only has Mayweather not fought nearly the same level of competition, but the fact that he has less than a fifth as many fights makes the statement to be nothing short of ludicrous.
