Does it sound ridiculous to get another dog as a sign of thanks to your previous dog that ped away?

my dog just ped away a week ago and ever since i heard the news that she was going to die until now, i've cried everyday about her. i felt that while she was here, i couldnt do much for her. like i feel as if though i could have treated her much more better. now, i feel obligated to get a dog in order to show that because of fuzzy, i will be more dedicated to taking care of another dog. like i feel as if though she's watching me from above and if she sees that because of her im becoming a better owner, she'll be really hapy. i thank her because of her, another dog will witness unconditional love and friendship. something that my relationship with fuzzy lacked. does this sound stupid..? or really messed up..?
