3 weeks after hysterectomy?

I just had a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. I have a weird straining pain on my left side. Should I be worried or is that normal? I had my stomach cut open long way not a bikini cut. I have no children and I am 36 years old. Can you tell me if the pain suppose to be there? I hope I don't have a herniah.
